Nasopharyngeal Swabs

Nasopharyngeal swabs are used to collect nasopharyngeal specimen for use in molecular diagnostic testing with an in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) test for SARS-CoV-2 detection. Specimens must be immediately placed in 1‐3 ml of viral transport medium (VTM). Specimens should be collected within the first 24‐72 hours of onset of symptoms, and no later than 5 days after onset of symptoms.
